The South Arkansas Regional Health Center is a group of caring individuals including all types of mental health professionals trained to help you resolve your particular problems. South Arkansas Regional Health Center is a private, not-for-profit community mental health center providing a full spectrum of professional mental health services to the residents of South Arkansas. The Center tailors its services specifically to the residents of Union, Ouachita, Columbia, Dallas, Nevada, and Calhoun Counties.

The Center's staff consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, psychiatric nurses, and other professionals skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of personal problems using individual, family, and group counseling. Therapy is offered for a wide range of emotional problems including stress, depression, anxiety, as well as family and marital difficulties. West Grove Academy is a specialized intensive day program for children in the El Dorado school system. Mid South Health System is the only non profit community mental health center Serving Northeast Arkansas.  We are part of the network of 14 community mental health centers providing services to the entire state.  Formerly George W. Jackson, a state operated community mental health center, Mid-South became a non-profit organization in 1997.  Since then, we moved into our new 45,000+ square foot home in Jonesboro, opened an outpatient clinic and 16 bed acute care unit in Jonesboro, and completed new buildings to house our Blytheville, Paragould and Pocahontas outpatient and day treatment programs.

Residential Inpatient Program: This 16 bed short-term inpatient service is provided on a 24 hr, 7 day a week basis with RN’s, LPN’s, Social Workers, and physician on call. This unit is a secured unit taking referrals from law enforcement and other community mental health centers. Services are not open for individual s with a primary diagnosis of alcohol or drug. All screenings for admissions are done offsite; i.e. jails, detention centers, hospitals, etc. Twenty-four hour telephone numbers are listed in the telephone directories and widely posted throughout the catchment area. Pinnacle Point Our residential treatment programs are for children and adolescents with long-standing behavioral health problems. Length of stay in our residential programs is determined by your child's individual progress. Residential treatment includes: A comprehensive therapeutic program with services provided by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, case managers, licensed clinical therapists, certified teachers, registered nurses, and certified recreational therapists. Individual/group/family therapy to address issues that may compromise the child's emotional health and/or safety. State Department of Education-approved school, K-12. Equipped with an ice chest, double burner stove with fuel, folding table with chairs, broom, mop, dust pan and bunk beds, a YURT can sleep up to six persons. Other amenities include fire pit, pedestal grill, picnic table and water faucet. YURTs do not have heat or air-conditioning and linens are not provided. Guests should bring cooking and eating utensils, matches and bed linens.Camping and YURT reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis although specific campsites can be requested if available. Campers must register with the Visitor Center at the entrance of DeGray Lake Resort State Park prior to occupying a campsite.
