Alcoholic or Addict? Self Test to Determine Addiction

How can a person determine if they have a predisposition to addiction?

In addition to some common questions, there are many "red flags" that can help one determine if they may be predisposition to drug or alcohol addiction. Many people today grow up in families that advocate the regular use of alcohol. As a child, it was common in my house to see my parents drink daily. Some days more than others, but the message that I got from that experience is that everyone drinks. It was a revelation to me to learn that there were parents who did not drink regularly. People drink to avoid being present fully in life, as a result, a parent or care taker who drinks is never really there for their children. Additionally, my experience was that it was ok to drink and drive. My dad would drive me to church events while drinking a beer, one more of many he had already consumed that evening.
